XL Academy

XL Academy is the advanced experience of Excellence uniting Culture, Education, and Leadership (ExCEL) that takes place in the spring.  Through ExCEL’s collaboration with faculty and staff, XL Academy furthers the ExCEL mission by meeting cultural balancing and mattering needs and using the conduit of leadership development, social responsibility, and community building to explore and establish meaningful connection and belonging. Using workshops, retreats, socials, engagement activities, and on/off-campus experiences the XL Academy Community explores beliefs, perceptions, and social interactions as they relate to identity and leadership.

XL Academy consists of students as participants (Diplomats) and leadership roles (Administrators and Commissioners). Diplomats are selected through an application and interview process in the fall to reveal their potential for leadership, desire to grow, and passion for making an impact.

ExCEL is designed to help undergraduate students discover the academic, social and personal balance necessary to facilitate their success at Texas A&M and beyond.  XL Academy provides all classification the opportunity to join, continue, or expand, the ExCEL community experience.
